January Quarterly Research Day
The January Quarterly Research Day is open to all PGRS and will focus on skills to support the transition into the job market. This will include making job applications and will include information on researching a role, promotion of self in the application process and writing a good personal statement.
The event will include a session on public speaking facilitated by doctoral candidate Rebecca Ball around how to articulate your doctorate in three minutes and concise and profession communication. This will help to improve public speaking through a variety of different techniques given to Rebecca during a training session that she attended at Cumberland Lodge. The session will cover different techniques which can help to make presentations stand out and be more engaging for the audience.
This Quarterly Research Day will also support PGRS who are taking part Doctoral College Employability Conference (13th February https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/doctoral-college-employability-conference-february-research-symposium-tickets-26440490218), which will continue to provide opportunities to develop interview skills and techniques that can then be implemented in a practise job interview for either a leadership role, a post-doctoral reserach post or a lecturing post. Interviews will be conducted by senior managers at the University of Wolverhampton.
This event is open to PGRS at the University of Wolverhampton
