Queen Margaret University Doctoral Student Conference

The Queen Margaret University Doctoral Student Association’s 9th annual conference will be held on the 27th of April 2017 in the Halle Lecture Theatre on QMU campus and we would love to see you there.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘recognising possibilities’.
With this in mind, speakers will be presenting aspects of their work that conveys the possibilities and opportunities their work affords them as well as the academic and wider communities.
The conference will break for lunch where refreshments will be provided.
There will also be a drinks reception at the university directly after the event.
Professor Jeremy Bradshaw from the University of Edinburgh
Keynote Title: Getting the Most From Your Doctorate.
Drawing on experience of his own doctorate, of his own doctoral students and of involvement in doctoral education at institutional, national and international levels, Jeremy will present strategies and practical advice about making the most of your doctoral studies.
Professor Bradshaw is the Assistant Principal for researcher development
Some of his responsibilities include:
- Overseeing research training for postgraduate, postdoctoral and early career researchers
- Formulation and promotion of strategic initiatives towards enhancing early career researchers’ experience
