About this event

Health • Mental health

This gentle 2-mile walk through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is open to survivors and supporters of survivors. Together, we’ll walk in unity, raise awareness, and hold space for healing and resilience.

The theme is purple, the international colour for domestic violence awareness. Wear purple proudly, or add a simple hint of it (a scarf, ribbon, or accessory).

What to Expect

  • A slow-paced, accessible walk suitable for all fitness levels
  • Time for reflection, conversation, or simply walking in community
  • Affirmations and encouragement along the way
  • Closing circle to honour survivors and share resources
  • Optional refreshments together afterwards

Practical Info

  • Meet: Stratford International Station (look out for SOAQ volunteers in purple)
  • Walk length: approx. 2 miles, 1.5–2 hours including pauses
  • Bring: comfortable shoes, water, and something purple to wear
  • Cost: Free to attend. Donations to Strength Of A Queen CIC welcome (to support survivor programmes and workshops)

Why Walk?
Walking is both grounding and symbolic. With each step, we say no to silence and yes to strength, solidarity, and healing. This walk honours all those affected by domestic violence and celebrates the courage of survivors.
