Do I need to pre-register or can I just turn up on the day?

In order for the workshop to run smoothly and to allow us to set the room up appropriately, you will need to book a (free) ticket through the Evenbrite page so we know who to expect.

Where is this workshop?

The workshop is taking place in BS1 4QA, next to Bristol Harbourside. The building the workshop is taking place in will be shared via email closer to the time, for those who have registered. If you have an concerns please get in contact!

Question 3

I have access requirements, will the venue and workshops be accessible to me?

Accepted Answer

The venue have an accessible building with lift access to the first floor, an accessible toilet on the ground floor, and gender neutral toilets on each floor. They welcome assistance dogs! We are happy to answer any further questions you may have, access requirements can be added during booking.

How do I get to the workshop?

Accepted Answer

The venue  is in BS1 and located close to many bus routes, Bristol local bus tickets for the day can be refunded for those who pre-register and attend the workshop so you are not out of pocket travelling to or from the workshop. The exact building will be shared closer to the time.

I booked a ticket but can't/ don't want to come anymore?

No worries! Please cancel your ticket so it is free if someone else wishes to book, thank you.

Do I need previous experience of this topic?

Accepted Answer

No! You are welcome to come if you fit the group that we are looking for, your contributions are still welcome and appreciated.

Will there be breaks?

Yes! There is a scheduled break partway through the workshop, but you are also welcome to leave at any time if you need anything or want to take a step away from the space, we will reiterate this on the day.

What do I get for coming?

As a thank you for your time you will receive a small gift at the end of the workshop.

Do I need to prepare anything before I come?

Accepted Answer

No! You are not expected to have done anything before coming to the workshop, we will be going through everything together and you can share as much or little as you like. We'll be happy you're there!

Is this workshop for me?

This workshop is for queer people over the age of 18, who are interested in taking part in discussions around queer belonging at events. As this is a Bristol-based project you should have a link to Bristol!

What is this research for?

This workshop is part of a bigger project supported by We The Curious. It is a community research project focused on finding out how events in Bristol can give queer people a sense of belonging.

How big is the workshop?

The workshop will have a maximum of 16 people, including event organisers.

Will there be food and drinks provided?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We will provide snacks and drinks will be available at the venue. Please provide any dietary requirements when booking your ticket and we will try our best to cater to these.

Will my data be kept confidential?

Accepted Answer

Any information provided in the booking process will be kept in the Eventbrite system and your email will only be shared with the event organisers. Any contributions you provide in the workshop itself will not be shared.

There is no on-site parking at the venue. Below are the closest car parks to the building. Please note these car parks are pay & display.
