About this event

QUEER CONNECT is free and open to anyone in the UK who is 18-25 years old AND identifies as LGBTQ+, or are exploring gender, sexuality, identity, and/or relationship diversity.

Welcome to QUEER CONNECT, Rainbow Mind’s new online LGBTQ+ community for queer young people.

This is a regular, welcoming and accepting space for LBGTQ+ people aged 18-25 to drop-in, share and explore mental health and wellbeing through mindfulness, creativity and conversation.

Our team is experienced in creating safe online spaces for young LGBTQ+ people to meet, connect, share and support each other. We even have a youth volunteer during each session to make you feel welcome. Oh, and we really like music, dance, art, movement - so expect some of that too!

During the session you will be free to share in a safe, relaxed and friendly online chat (no trauma dumping!), followed by interesting mindfulness activities adapted for the needs of the group and finally some useful takeaways, creative ideas and conversations!

THEMES

Each session will focus on a specific theme. Check out our upcoming themes:

  • 17 April 2024 : IDENTITY
  • 24 April 2024 : ANXIETY
  • 15 May 2024 : SELF CARE

The group will meet approximately twice a month on Wednesday evenings (6pm-8pm), so drop by when you can and come back next time and help grow your own community.

This group is not a mental health crisis support service. If you need more immediate, intensive support please scroll down to the bottom of the page for information.

  • This is an online queer space run by and for members who identify as LGBTQ+, or, for those exploring mental health, gender, sexuality, identity and relationship diversity.
  • At Rainbow Mind we also understand that our identities and lives change and evolve and there is no need to feel you have to be a certain way, or fit a certain box.
  • All parts of you are welcome.
  • We will also be available to answer questions about the other forms of mental health support we have available here at Rainbow Mind.

If you have any questions about QUEER CONNECT, or want to find out more about Rainbow Mind and what other support we offer contact our team at - rainbowmind@mindchwf.org.uk.

Please note: this session is intended for LGBTQ+ people aged between 18-25. Participants that do not fit this demographic will respectfully be asked to re-book on to a more suitable event.
