Queer History and Colonialism: research presentations and Q&A with Dr Heike Bauer (Head of English & Humanities, Birkbeck, University of London)

Join Dr Heike Bauer to for a discussion of the forgotten writings by the influential sexologist, homosexual rights activist and transgender advocate Magnus Hirschfeld, as she explores the limits of early rights politics.

Heike Bauer is a historian of sexuality and literary critic and currently Head of the Department of English & Humanities at Birkbeck College, University of London. Her latest book, The Hirschfeld Archives: Violence, Death and Modern Queer Culture (Temple UP, 2017), won a Knowledge Unlatched Award..
