About this Event

How can we queer art history and heritage? Join activist and curator Claire Mead in taking a look at ways different museums and historic sites queer the way we look at art and history. Followed by a casual drag workshop and nail-painting session with tips with Claire's drag king alter ego, Eugène Delacroissant!

Claire Mead is an art and design curator as well as the public programme curator for Makerversity at Somerset House. She was 2018-19 curator in residence at Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, where she curated the exhibition ‘Living Beyond Limits’ queering its art collection. Recently, she has been expanding her work in queer activism within museums and heritage into drag practice with her alter ego "Eugène Delacroissant."

This event is organised by Queering the Art Classroom in conjunction with their exhibition 'Queering the Art Classroom Collaborates' on at Sutton House from 20th-29th September.
