About this event

This quiet session is for autistic visitors, visitors with learning disabilities or different sensory and communication needs, along with their families and carers, or anyone else who feels they need a quieter experience of the museum. If that's not you, please visit after 11am on these days.

This is particularly for visitors to experience our multisensory Sensational Museum exhibit and our Tale Telt exhibition in a quiet environment. Tale Telt features multiple audio recordings which are often playing at the same time. During these periods we ask visitors to play one recording at a time and be mindful of the wishes of other people visiting for a quiet session. Having said this, visitors are welcome to explore any parts of the museum they wish during this session.

We are aksing people to book if they can so we can ensure it never gets too busy, but you can still come without booking. Please also book for anyone coming with you.

The museum will open to the public at 10am so we cannot guarantee quiet from the other galleries after this time, but we will do our best to encourage quiet and direct visitors to other galleries until 11am.

If you have specific requirements or preferneces you would like to discuss before vsiiting, we will do our best to accomodate you. Please get in touch on operations@keswickmuseum.org.uk or curator@keswickmuseum.org.uk.
