In this workshop you will use pen and watercolour to create a quirky seaside scene looking at the small details that enhance such a painting. You will learn how to compose such a scene and explore the different atmospheres that different colours produce. Drawing with permanent ink pens and using watercolours on top you will produce at least one single painting…and possibly more.
John will demonstrate how he approaches some of his Seaside paintings. He will cover the drawing techniques he uses and the colour palette together with the little tricks he has learnt over the years which save time and enhance a painting.
Drawing pens will be supplied but bring your own if you prefer.
You are welcome to bring pictures, images or ipads and tablets to depict a favourite scene if you wish.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
Your choice of watercolours and brushes ( I have a selection of St. Petersberg/White Nights watercolours available to use ).
Rough grain 140 lb watercolour paper
Bring a comfortable cushion if required.
Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided throughout the day. For one day workshops you may bring a packed lunch or visit one of our local cafes and food stores.
