Event description

Description

The Rowers Conference is back in January. After a successful first conference at Dorney Lake in 2017, we are excited to be bring even more speakers from different parts of the world together in 2018. Our 3 keynote speakers and 13 breakout room speakers will make sure you will have a day that is action packed.

This year's conference is focused to help coaches look at challenges being faced in sport today and in the future. The relationship between coach and athlete is critical to any success on the water or in the gym. Two-time Olympic gold winning coach Robin Williams will share his experience of woring with exceptional athletes and the role of the coach.

However it is not only the coach that makes athletes go faster but the culture they are part of. We are excited that two coaches that have won 7 Henley Royal medals between them will be sharing the stage with Martin Cross. Martin interviews them to find their magic formula to creating cultures in differrent clubs.

A lot of Great Britains success at the Olympics has been due to the influence of UK Sport. We are lucky to have Dame Kath Grainger, sharing the ingredients that are required to make performance atheltes.

The Rowers Conference is a full day of action. Between our keynotes there are several breakout rooms where you'll be able to hear from specialists like German Rowing's Physiologist Gunnar Treff, Chair of British Rowing Annamarie Phelps, Rob Baker Chief Coach of Cambridge Women's Boat Club. And these are just some of the great speakers that will be at the Rowers Conference.
