Are you passionate about advancing race equity in your organisation? Curious about how leadership, recruitment, policy development, decision-making, and community engagement all play a role?

Voice4Change England is proud to collaborate with the Race Equality Foundation to deliver an insightful and practical workshop designed specifically for the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector.

At the heart of this workshop is the Race Equity Maturity Index (REMI), a pioneering self-assessment tool, co-produced with diverse communities and stakeholders from London’s health and care system as part of the London Anti-racism Collaboration for Health (LARCH) programme. REMI helps organisations track, measure, and strengthen their commitment to race equity. It works alongside existing equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, offering a structured, supportive way to grow.

This workshop is more than a learning opportunity, it is a meaningful partnership between organisations committed to racial justice and equity. Join us to explore REMI, share insights, and take the next step on your race equity journey.

About the speakers:

Dr. Amanda Simon, Senior Researcher at Race Equality Foundation

Amanda is working on anti-racism projects involving a wide range of community-based partners and individuals from Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic communities. These projects are geared towards the recommendation and implementation of anti-racist strategies. Within her research, Amanda has sought to highlight the lived experiences of minoritised ethnic communities and the negotiation of identities within these spaces. Amanda is passionate about creating platforms for the free expression of minoritised voices and aims to facilitate this through research.

Dr. Sharmin Shajahan, Deputy Director at Voice4Change England

Sharmin has 30 years’ experience across the voluntary, public, and academic sectors. She leads work to strengthen BME infrastructure, tackle inequality, and advocate for systemic change, drawing on a strong background in public health and research, including a PhD on access to health services.
