This one-day course is essential training for leaders, managers, human resource, and diversity and inclusion professionals. Race and belief are two of the protected characteristics protected against discrimination under The Equality Act 2010. These are critical priorities for all employers to fully understand and address through proactive steps in the workplace. Specifically, this training focusses on the specific needs and examples of discrimination facing Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic people, and those with relgious beleifs in the workplace.

Learning Objectives

• An understanding of race, faith, and diversity in the workplace.
• An understanding of the specific legislation and external/internal drivers impacting race, faith, and diversity in the workplace.
• How to engender culturally sensitive practices and teams in the workplace.
• An understanding of inequality and how this manifests in the workplace.
• An understanding of unconscious bias in the workplace and how to overcome this.
• Practical steps to engender diverse and culturally sensitive workplaces and prevent discrimination and be an anti-racist organisation.
• Knowledge of best practice and case studies, specific to your organisation.

Duration and Attendance

• This course takes 6-hours with our professional, fully qualified, and experienced trainers.
• It can be delivered in-house, online, or at one of our face-to-face sessions (subject to covid-19 restrictions).
• To allow for effective group work and interaction, training is capped at 20 learners.
• The course is fully tailored to employers specific needs for inhouse training, with tailored case studies and best practice examples for the online and face-to-face training (through a pre-course learner questionnaire).

Certification

• A range of methods are used to assess each candidate, including practicals and questioning (open and multiple-choice).
• On successful completion of the course, learners will receive a Race, Belief, and Diversity Training Awareness Training Certificate.
