Event description
The Equality Trust presents new research into the impact of race and gender inequalities on career progression and pay for doctors & nurses.

About this Event

While the gender pay gap plays out differently across the health sector, with a 17% pay gap in medicine and no gender pay gap in nursing, women’s progression to the top jobs is problematic across the board. In medicine, women are highly underrepresented within consultant grades, while almost one in five men in the UK nursing workforce are achieving the top jobs in the sector, while women lose out on the top salaried roles. However, little analysis has been undertaken on what factors, besides gender, affect pay in the sector, despite evidence that factors such as race play an important role too.

Join The Equality Trust to explore and discuss the impact of both gender and racial inequalities in stunting career progression and pay equity for women and BAME workers in the healthcare sector, presenting brand new research from the UK’s leading experts.
