We're delighted and honoured to welcome Dr Rachel Aldred - transport researcher from the University of Westminster and cycling advocate - to come and talk to the York Cycle Campaign.

She will be talking about inequalities in cycling participation in England. How equal is cycling, by class, gender, age, ethnicity, and disability? Where there are inequalities, why do they exist? Can we change them – and how?

Dr Aldred is the UK’s leading academic specialising in research on cycling, with a particular interest in the under-representation of women, older people and disabled people. Her work focuses on identifying the barriers to the wider uptake of cycling and the features that make effective interventions.
