Join us for a 4-part series designed to enable you to identify attitudes and behaviours that perpetuate racism in the workplace.

About this Event

Learning Objectives:

  • To develop and awareness of the presence of personal racism.
  • To introduce key concepts relating to aspects of interpersonal racism.
  • To explore real and relevant case studies that evidence racism in the UK.
  • To engage in a reflective practise that encourages a commitment to transformational change

Training Course Facilitators:

Chiedza Ikpeh is a Zimbabwean-born and British-raised educator with a heart and passion to drive positive social change within her community. Partnering with Black led organisations such as the BLAM CIC and Female Magik, Chiedza is actively working to promote positive social attitudes towards Black identity, Black history and Black education. With a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Human Resource Management and a PGCE in Secondary English, Chiedza continues her academic pursuits with a doctoral research programme in Social Justice in Education, at the University of Chester, investigating the structural, systemic and institutional barriers facing Black Females in Higher Education.

Emma Taonga, raised in Yorkshire and bearing Zambian-British heritage, deeply believes in empowering communities through shared knowledge and resources and has worked in both charity and academic institutions for many years. With a BSc in Biochemistry and Genetics, MSc in International Public Health and an MRes in Quantitative Methodology in Global Development, her skills extend in project management, impact evaluation and data analysis. Her research covers refugee rights, integrated healthcare, and mental wellbeing in BAME communities. Currently, Emma works as a researcher and lecturer in Public Health.
