Description
Refugee Resource 20th Anniversary: Concert by the Radcliffe Orchestra
The Radcliffe Orchestra will be performing their final concert of 2019 in aid of Refugee Resource’s 20th Anniversary.
We hope you’ll be able to join us for what promises to be a wonderful musical evening. We will have an exhibition about Refugee Resource so recommend that you arrive at 7pm in order to explore the exhibition before the concert. There will also be refreshments available after the concert.
Concerts have been given by musicians by the staff of Oxford's Health Services and their friends since 1978. There are three concerts per year, and each concert raises money in aid of one or more medical charities. The orchestra plays a popular classics programme and this concert is a delightful selection of favourites:
Beethoven: Overture Leonora 1
Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto ( soloist Edgar Bailey )
Faure: Pelléas and Mélisande Suite
Brahms: Variations on a theme of Haydn
We hope to see you there to celebrate Refugee Resource and enjoy a great evening of music.
Tickets can also be bought at the offices of Refugee Resource or by sending a cheque made payable to ‘Refugee Resource’ to Refugee Resource, The Old Music Hall; 106 – 108 Cowley Road; Oxford OX4 1JE with your name and email details. They can also be bought from Cairns Library at the John Radcliffe Hospital and on the door on the night.
Tingewick Hall is on the ground floor of the Academic Centre near to the Main Entrance and University of Oxford Medical School offices.
FAQs
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
By train: Oxford railway station is well served by trains from London, Birmingham, Bristol and the North. From the railway station take bus numbers 13, 14 or 14a.
By London-Oxford bus: Get off at Headington shops and the John Radcliffe is a short walk along Osler Road.
By car: Parking at the John Radcliffe is difficult. We would suggest using the park and ride facilities at Water Eaton (from the north, bus 700 to the John Radcliffe) or Thornhill (from London, bus 400 which stops at Headington shops).
Otherwise, visitor parking is available in John Radcliffe car parks 1, 2 & 3 at the daily rate
