Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) Course
Overview
Course description:
This is a virtual Radiation Protection Supervisors (RPSs) course. The course is delivered in bitesize recorded presentations between 10 and 25 minutes long and includes core and optional content as well as targeted X-ray, Radioactive Materials and Radiotherapy material. The core content meets the HSE RPS syllabus.
Registered delegates will also have access to two or more 1 hour MS Teams live discussions with members of the Radiation Protection Team. Following completion of the course, resources are available for one year.
Course Aim:
This course aims to provide new and existing supervisors with the required knowledge to carry out and supervise others when working with sources of Ionising Radiation.
Objectives:
- By the end of this course students should:
- understand what radiation is
- understand the effects of radiation
- know the principles of protection
- know what the responsibilities of an RPS are
- gain knowledge of UK regulations and legislations which cover radiation protection
- This course meets the HSE RPS syllabus
