Radical Perspectives on Justice Social Work in Scotland
Event Information
About this event
The latest in our successful free lunchtime radical social work webinars examines Justice Social Work from a Critical and Radical angle. At a time of debate about the new National Care Service which the Government proposes should include Justice Services, this is a timely look at themes and possibilities for ensuring that the social work values of social justice and community remain at the heart of our work.
We are pleased to bring you three great speakers who represent a broad spectrum of background: Professor Fergus McNeill from Glasgow University is a prominent academic, writer and expert in the Justice Social Work field; Laraine Greenan is a UNISON activist in Ayrshire and a Justice SW; Jackie Hamilton is a senior manager and experienced Justice practitioner, also from Ayrshire. Each will speak for ten minutes, leaving time for questions and discussion from other participants. The event will be chaired by Colin Turbett, UNISON activist, social work author and member of the Common Weal Social Care Reform Working Group. Get your free ticket now!
