The conference will discuss:
How have statistics been used in the arguments for Britain remaining in or leaving the EU?
What do statistics of Brexit tell us about social inequalities and social change?
What evidence is needed to assess the implications of Brexit proposals?
Keynote speakers include:
Professor Jane Falkingham (CPC, University of Southampton) giving a demographic perspective
Professor Michael Dougan (University of Liverpool) giving a legal perspective
Professor Rob Ford (University of Manchester) giving a political perspective
Professor Brian Cathcart (Kingston University) giving a media perspective
Plus, participatory workshops on:
Statistics of Brexit & Race Crime
Statistics of Brexit & Population Projections
Statistics of Brexit & Implications for National Statistics
Statistics of Brexit & Internal Migration
The conference will be followed by the Radical Statistics AGM 2017.
6:00 pm start on 18th Feb at the same venue
and by a free walking tour of Edinburgh on the morning of Sunday 19th February.
