Rag Rug Techniques for Beginners

In this relaxed and creative beginners' class, you will learn the traditional shaggy, short shaggy and loopy techniques of rag rugging into hessian, whilst making a project of your choice, (rug / cushion / everlasting flower bouquet/ tote bag). Plus, you'll have the opportunity to rummage in our treasure trove of fabrics and experiment with a wide range of different textures and colourways.

What is this workshop about?

What do I need to bring?

All materials are provided, but you’re welcome to bring any fabrics you'd like to use. Rag rugging is all about reusing what you have! A tote bag might come in handy to carry your creation home.

Who is the class suitable for?

This class is perfect for complete beginners, as well as anyone curious about traditional crafts. No prior experience needed, just a creative spirit! Suitable for ages 16+
