About this Event

This term the RAI Book Club will be reading Saidiya Hartman’s Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments: Intimate Histories of Social Upheaval (2019).

We are fortunate to have the author herself joining us to discuss her book. Hartman is a Professor of African-American Literature and History at Columbia University, and a 2019 MacArthur Fellow. You can hear her talk about her work here: https://www.macfound.org/fellows/1038/
