Event description

Description

'Railway Town' is a full length documentary depiction of our town during its railway era, created to mark the Swindon175 Anniversary last year. The film tracks the highs and lows of life when Swindon revolved around the railway - right up to modern times.

The film was premiered at the Wyvern Theatre on 25th April to a 650 seat sold out audience. Due to further demand, we have arranged this follow-up screening.

Tickets are £5 (plus booking fee) and the film will start at 7pm (doors open 6.30pm). There will be time for discussion after the screening and a chance to ask questions on current issues from the Mechanics' Institution Trust. There are only 80 seats at this venue, so please register your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Some reviews:

"A Triumph" - BBC
"Superb" - Steam Museum
"Inspirational" "A hit film" - Swindon Advertiser

Don't miss the first full history of Swindon as a railway town!

If you know anyone who couldn't get tickets to the first screening please invite them to this event.

All proceeds from this screening will support the charitable work of Viewpoint Community Media and the Mechanics' Institution Trust.
