About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Greg Foot is an award-winning TV and Radio Science presenter and producer and long time You-Tuber. Greg will be presenting his Rainforest Lab Talk, inspired by his visit accompanying scientific researchers to the Amazon Rainforest. This new talk uses stunning videos to introduce the cutting-edge conservation biology research that led to him dangling 50m up in this tree! From bioacoustic surveys using AI to identify monkeys, to aerobotany using drones to map flowering Brazil nut trees, experience first-hand the amazing research being done at The Tambopata Research Centre. Greg Foot has been making science content for TV, radio, YouTube, podcast and stage for almost 20 years, and is perhaps best known for his weekly BBC Radio 4 series “Sliced Bread”.

He will also host a short Q&A session, providing the audience with an opportunity to ask their burning questions.

Following the talk and Q&A, Greg will be available for a brief meet and greet with attendees.

As we anticipate high demand for this event, it will also be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person. The live stream will be ticketed and free of charge. Please check the Chelmsford Science Festival events page for the booking link.

This event is presented as part of the Chelmsford Science Festival.
