Raise $750 for Kidsport by Climbing Mt Everest (8,848m) on my bike!
Date and time
Description
The challenge: Climb Mt Everest, 8848m
I would do this in person but given the current restrictions I will have to make do with cycling a local mountain on repeat!
I now live in Vancouver, so Mt Seymour will be that lucky mountain. This will equate to 10 round trips and over 100km of climbing, although I get a rest on the downhill :)
The Cause: Kidsport

KidSport is a national not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance for registration fees and equipment to kids aged 18 and under. They provide grants so that kids are able to play a season of sport. Since its creation in 1993, over 825,000 kids across the country have been given the chance to play sport through KidSport grants and sport introduction programming.
They believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.
The reason:
I have always been lucky enough to play a lot of sport and throughout school I was always counting the days to the next match. I strongly believe that sport and exercise can bring people together and encourage a healthy lifestyle both physcially and mentally.
As a result I want to support a charity that helps get young people in to sport who may not be able to under normal circumstances. Kidsport is the perfect fit and I will do my best to raise as much money for them as possible!!
