About this event

#RaiseTheGame and Women Making Games presents a fabulous Thursday networking event by the sea as part of the activity offering around Develop: Brighton.

Open to all that are interested in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) in games, this relaxed and family friendly event is a great opportunity to meet and chat with like-minded people!

Featuring a brief 5 minute presentation from the Women Making Games and #RaiseTheGame teams, plus plenty of opportunities to eat, drink and mingle.

Tickets are free and are available on a first come, first serve basis, so don’t miss out on securing your spot and joining us at the Brighton Harbour Kitchen & Bar between 12pm-2.30pm BST.

Stuck with where to start your conversation after you said hello at the event?

As conversation starter to help you start mingling and knowledge sharing, how about leading with - What's been the top tip you've learnt during the Develop: Brighton Conference? 😊

Safety Measures At The Event

As in-person events are steadily returning, we're excited about the opportunity to put on what's to be the pledge's second in-person event ever, and bring people together.

Nevertheless we feel it is vital to provide attendees with the safest possible environment while the risks of Covid-19 are still present. The following measures will be in place:

  • Covid-19 Safeguarding - This event will be held in compliance with UK government Covid-19 rules.
  • Traffic Light Name Badges - People will be able to spotlight their personal space and networking comfortability through the use of Green, Amber & Red name badges.
  • Hand Sanitiser - Hand sanitiser will be available during the event.
  • Plated Up - Food will be plated up to avoid too much cross over while ensuring there is still choice by dietary requirements.

More about Women Making Games

Women Making Games (WOMG) is an organisation based in the UK that - you guessed it - make video games! We come together for advice and support on a regular basis.

We are here for ALL women in the game industry, or women aspiring to join the industry. Our mission is to help women know their worth, and support them in building successful, long-lasting careers in games.

More about #RaiseTheGame

The #RaiseTheGame pledge is a holistic driven initiative managed and facilitated by Ukie aimed at helping the overall UK games industry grow and improve in all areas of equality, diversity and inclusivity (EDI). From guidance and practical advice to engagement activities like events both online and in-person, the pledge is a call to action to rally the sector together and become lead examples of inclusion to other industries.

Though the pledge is managed by Ukie, any games industry company can applied to sign-up and be involved in activities surrounding the pledge, all that is asked is a strong commitment to make a positive impact, the time to listen and consider along with the effort to implement such change. Even if you’re at the start of your journey or think your company too small to make a difference - all companies no matter their size or where they are in their equality, diversity & inclusion journey are welcome.
