Wed 2 March 2016, 09:00 – 15:00 GMT
I would like to invite you to join me from 9:00am on Wednesday 2nd March to reflect on the demands of the new English curriculum and how to take the teaching of reading at KS2 (including guided reading) through to the next level. The day focuses on the teaching of comprehension at KS2, and will illustrate the importance of interpreting the National Curriculum requirements in the context of a pedagogy that provides challenge and develops independence and responsibility.
The session, sponsored by Oxford University Press and organised by La Fontaine Academy offers the opportunity to attend a full day of professional development (full agenda below).
v Session 1: Junior Reading: The Context
v Session 2: Developing Reading Comprehension : A 6 Step Process
v Session 3: What does it look like in your classroom and implications for your school
Numbers will be limited (2 delegates maximum per school), so please book by 25th January, 2016.
Thank you, I will look forward to meeting you.
With Best Wishes
Nikki Gamble (Independent Literacy Consultant)
*There will be a non-profit charge £10 per delegate made by the organiser to cover the cost of the venue and refreshments. Invoices will be sent to deleguates after they've registered.
