Event description

Description

We are delighted to invite you to attend an upcoming ILC event, which will present new findings related to people with dementia and their carers from a prestigious research project led by Prof Gill Livingston at UCL, MARQUE (Managing Agitation and Raising Quality of Life).

  • Date: 1 March 2019

  • Time: 9.30am (for 10.00am) – 1.00pm

  • Location: 110 Rochester Row, London SW1P 1JP

This project, funded by the EHRC and NIHR NIHR in response to the PM’s Challenge on dementia, began in 2014 and covered six workstreams involving people with dementia and those who care for them, both in their homes and in formal care settings.

In the UK, about 820,000 people live with dementia with numbers increasing rapidly as the population ages. The Government's “Challenge on Dementia” aims to drive improvements in health and care, create dementia friendly communities, and improve research.

Responding to this challenge, the MARQUE project has increased our knowledge about dementia, agitation, and personhood among people with dementia and their carers. Speakers include Prof Gill Livingston, Prof Claudia Cooper and Prof Paul Higgs.

Furthermore, central to this event is to engage broadly and hear your response to the findings and there will be opportunities to provide feedback and suggestions for the authors.
