Description

1st Session for Raising Teens and Tweens:

Do you want to feel more connected to your teenager?

Just as we thought we had got the hang of parenting then your teen comes with a whole new set of parenting concerns and challenges!

It is never too early to prepare for the challenges that teenagers bring so this workshop is relevant to parents of both teens and pre-teens.

  • Does your child appear to hate you and you have become the bad guy?
  • Is your teen argumentative, disrespectful and quick to back chat?
  • Do you feel that their communication devices rule their lives?
  • Does your teen only reply to you with one word or simply a grunt?
  • Is everything a drama for your teenager?
  • Do you feel that she/he talks non-stop to peers – but not to you?
  • Would you like your teen to support more around the house, without arguing?

In this workshop we will cover:

  • how to encourage a positive attitude and behaviour in your teenager through effective communication so they will listen
  • Boost your teen’s confidence with easy to some practical tools
  • how to support your teen to become more responsible around the house
  • how to use effective tools to increase the behaviours and attitudes we want to see more of in our teenagers
  • ways in which we can limit our own voice in the house and create a calmer and happier home

2nd Session of Raising Teens & Tweens: Managing Screen Time

In this 2nd session of Raising Teens and Tweens we will get under the skin of managing screen time in a practical and positive way for your family, creating a balance between screen time and other commitments to family, school and social lives.

Our aims:-

  • To start by understanding why our teens and tweens love (and need) screen time so much so we can make sense of it all!
  • To identify how you can stop using a screen as a reward or punishment
  • To help remove the stress of screen time battles
  • Communicating the importance of communicating
  • Look at ways that will reduce teens and tweens screen time without yelling or losing our temper and encourage them to do something else instead

Potential outcomes:-

  • To offer you practical tools to set up your home with positive screen agreements
  • To create systems that everyone is on board with and reducing tension
  • To create more family time for other activities
  • Understand how and why we need to be positive role models

We look forward to welcoming you
