The Raising Voices in Research (RViR) partnership is offering workshops for researchers based in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This training will introduce you to the RViR approach, an evidence and community-based model for community engagement that will empower you to design and develop inclusive research: moving from research-led to community-led.
Using a mix of group work and interactive exercises, we will focus on how to identify and address barriers for meaningful participation. We will also explore how to use creative and inclusive approaches in your research, and how to evidence the impact and benefit of involvement across the research life cycle.
RViR Training is entirely co-produced with the public. It draws on insights from communities that reflect diversity in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, gender identity, LGBTQ+, neurodiversity, those seeking sanctuary and those with mental health and other long-term conditions.
While our focus to date has been on engagement in health and social care research, our model can also be applied to research in a range of other areas.
RViR training runs a few times a year with capacity for around 20 people.
