Description

Sunday Raku Masterclass with NAM TRAN

Nam Tran will provide professionally thrown pots and vessels of various sizes and shapes ready for you to glaze and raku at our unique space.

Raku means "enjoyment", "comfort" or "ease"

It is a type of Japanese pottery - traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies - that has a unique finish which is achieved through low firing temperatures and the removal of pieces from the kiln while still glowing hot.

The fired raku piece is removed from the hot kiln and placed in a container filled with combustible material. Add this special technique to your ceramics repetoire!

This is part of our weekly Sunday Ceramic Masterclass series.
