About this event
This workshop is being run as part of the Light exhibition at Newcastle Cathedral by Northern Potters Association (open from Saturday 27th May- Monday 27th June 2022)
Firing between 10-12:30 or 1:30 - 4pm depending on which session you book, we will provide you with 3 ceramic pieces to glaze using our stencils and metallic/crackle glazes. One of your pots can be used for a horse hair firing too!
Suitable for beginners or more experienced potters who want to learn about raku, you must be aged 16 plus.
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or smelling of smoke. Wear layers as the workshop will be taking place outside.
Please wear covered shoes and long trousers as we are dealing with 1000°c pots!
As the firings take about an hour from start to finish, you will be able to take your pots away with you at the end of the session.
Please note, the pots are not food safe or frost proof.
