About this Event

Ever wondered what a Raspberry Pi is?

You’ve heard the name Raspberry Pi... and you know it’s not edible…, so what is it?

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer which has revolutionised the way coding and electronics are taught to children; and provided a new way for engineers to create new products.

This beginners course is for adults who want to learn the basics of the Raspberry Pi.

Who is this suitable for?

Anyone who wants to learn how to get started with a Raspberry Pi:

  • Parents
  • Teachers
  • Hobbyists

What you will learn:

  • What is a Raspberry Pi and how to set one up
  • Basic Python - the programming language for the Raspberry Pi
  • How to control real-life items like lights, buzzers and switches.

All equipment will be provided, and you will be given a booklet to take away with you, full of information and projects to help you continue your Raspberry Pi adventure at home.

No prior knowledge or experience is required - this is a complete beginners course.

Please bring your own refreshments and lunch.

Proceeds from all Kakou workshops go towards funding creative STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) workshops for disadvantaged children and community groups.
