Raveningham Sculpture Trail 2020 - Late Afternoon Timeslot Booking

Event description
Magical Sculpture Trail in South Norfolk, through 3 acres of meadows, woodland, garden and gallery featuring works by 46 artists.

About this Event

Popular annual sculpture trail returns to Raveningham for its fourth year. Featuring original artworks by 46 artists in 3 acres of grounds and a pop up Gallery. Artists were selected in January to respond to the theme ‘Creative Odyssey’ by curator Sarah Cannell and have been creating artworks for the summer Sculpture Trail. Some of the artists have shown at the inspiring trail previously and some are joining the trail for the first time this year. The 2020 works include: a full size Iberian Stallion created from steel wire by Connie Adams, a reclining bronze River Goddess by Vanessa Pooley, an outside mini cinema featuring animation short films curated by Suzie Hannah, new wildlife inspired sculptures by Tobias Ford and many more fabulous site specific works by talented Sculptors and Makers.

It has been difficult to know whether to continue with our plans for the Raveningham Sculpture Trail in such uncertain times. After a lot of consideration the Curator and Artists felt that continuing to work towards such an inspiring annual event during lockdown would give us all a sense of purpose with the hope that we would be able to share, inspire and uplift visitors over the summer. The process of making the work and the strong creative community that has developed around the Sculpture Trail is equally as important for the artists and volunteers involved as well as our regular visitors. The Arts have played such an important role for so many people this year, we have turned to film, music, painting, making, sewing and drawing to help keep calm through the storm, the Arts will continue to help us through.

In the current climate it is of the utmost importance to us that artists and visitors alike are able to visit the trail safely. For this reason we have decided to book check in time slots to ensure everyone has a relaxing visit and that we keep the numbers of people on site to a safe minimum. The 3 acre trail route through meadows, gardens and woods is one way this year and the pop up gallery will be open but we ask that one family group at a time look around the space. There is enough room to safely socially distance outside with the recommended 2m space between visitors. Trail entry £6 per person, free for under 18s. 1st - 31st August 10-5pm. Free parking. Check the website for up to date information about visiting the trail and book your visiting time at www.raveninghamsculpturetrail.com @raveninghamsculpturetrail Instagram / Facebook
