Event description

Description

The “Mansion House” better known to most people as the offices of the RBS bank in the High Street, will again by special arrangement be opening their doors to the general public. The house was built in 1754 by Dr Benjamin Pugh, a very clever physician who at the time was responsible for saving the lives of very many people in Chelmsford. Inside his house he had the interior decorated with finely carved staircases, ornate fireplaces and elaborate ceilings all of which are available to view during two bookable guided tours. The refurbished meeting room is well worth seeing with all the original features.

Note: The steps from the ground floor to the first floor are steep.
