Description

Social Media friend or Fo!

Revalidation is the new process that all nurses and midwives in the UK will need to follow to maintain their registration with the NMC.

Taking effect from April 2016, revalidation is straightforward and will help you as a nurse or midwife demonstrate that you practise safely and effectively. It will encourage you to reflect on the role of the Code in your practice and demonstrate that you are 'living' the standards set out within it.

One aspect of the revalidarion process is continuing professional development the NMC have been creative in how they suggest registrants meet their CPD requirements. Joining a twitter chat with #we nurses can be used as CPD and twitter is a great place for finding out and keeping in touch with whats happening whilst connecting to a international network of professionals. Getting started with twitter is easy and the benefits out way the fear!

This workshop will support participants to understand how social media can be used to support revalidation. The focus of the session will be on supporting attendees to set up a twitter account, follow #we nurses and tweet their first message.
