The RCVS team will be visiting Blackpool on Monday15 May, for RCVS Question Time.
The meeting will be held at the Village Hotel, E Park Dr, Blackpool FY3 8LL from 6.30pm. It is free to attend and could count for up to three hours continuing professional development.
Question Time provides an opportunity for veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and other members of the practice team to directly question senior figures at the RCVS on a range of subjects.
Possible topics for discussion include:
- Alternative dispute resolution
- Vet Futures
- VN Futures
- Blame culture
- Schedule 3 review
- Mind Matters Initiative
- Practice Standards Scheme
We would particularly welcome your feedback on the future of veterinary nursing and improving Schedule 3 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act.
Are you a veterinary surgeon who delegates medical treatment or acts of minor veterinary surgery to veterinary nurses? If not, why not?
Are you a registered veterinary nurse who undertakes medical treatment or minor acts of veterinary surgery? If not, why not?
This is your opportunity to provide feedback and ideas on how to improve Schedule 3 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act – which allows some aspects of veterinary work to be delegated to RVNs - to strengthen the veterinary nursing profession and the veterinary team as a whole. Come and let us know!
The evening will begin with a buffet supper at 6:30pm with the discussion, chaired by RCVS President Dr Chris Tufnell beginning at 7:15pm and finishing at approximately 10pm.
Please feel free to bring along any colleagues, veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses or practice managers who might find the evening of interest - just remember to register their details on the following pages.
There is complimentary parking at the venue.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Please email Emma Lockley on firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or your plans change and you are no longer able to attend.
