What is the round table about?
The digital economy is expanding at an unprecedented pace, and nowhere is this more evident than in the surge of data center construction across the United States. As artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure become the backbone of modern life, demand for large-scale data processing facilities is soaring. Yet behind this rapid growth lies another transformative force: the integration of renewable energy.
This convergence of digital expansion and the clean energy transition offers tremendous opportunity but also new complexities, particularly in cybersecurity. Operators and investors who own or control renewable systems are no longer just energy consumers; they are becoming energy providers within their own ecosystems. With that role comes the responsibility to secure the operational technology (OT) that governs how power is generated, stored, and delivered.
Unlike traditional IT systems, OT environments operate on different protocols, face distinct risks, and attract different kinds of attackers. A single compromise in a solar controller or battery inverter can trigger downtime, cause physical damage, or even create cascading failures.
For the next generation of renewable-powered data centers, the message is clear: cybersecurity must extend far beyond the server room—to the panels, batteries, and networks that keep the lights on.
Securing the Next Gigawatt:
“Securing the Next Gigawatt” is a focused roundtable bringing together experts in cybersecurity, infrastructure, and AI to explore the evolving threat landscape surrounding data centers.
Over a three-course dinner and drinks, this evening is a forum dedicated to discussions around securing our critical infrastructure. targeted to renewable energy and data center specialists, we will come together to discuss:
Key Topics Will Include:
- New cyber threats emerging in the growth of data centers.
- How renewable integration expands the attack surface in data centers
- How regulation and cyber compliance are adapting to this transformation
- Best practices for securing next-gen data centers from design to operation
- Securing the renewable OT powering our data centers.
- Securing the Energy Supply Chain
- The role of PPAs, on-site generation, and energy storage in operational resilience
If you woul like to attend this event PLEASE can you ensure you meet one of these criterias for entry:
A senior role in a renewable energy organisation (developer, producer, o&m) such as project manager, operations, cyber, tech, management.
A senior role in a government organisation that has influence and /or interest in cyber security for renewable energy
You are in a senior role at a DATA centre company AND interested in cyber security topics.
