Description

Led by Dr Janet Goodall (University of Bath)

Key note speech by Naomi Eisenstadt CB (University of Oxford)

Intended audience: All teachers, school leaders, governors, trustees, practitioners, parents and carers who support children’s learning to meet needs and raise attainment.

Engaging parents in their children’s learning is a powerful lever for raising pupils’ achievement, particularly for those who tend to underachieve in the current schooling system. Yet for many schools this type of engagement remains elusive. Are you interested in learning why this might be and what might help bring change?

At this event you can:

* Engage with renowned leaders in the field of parental engagement

* Exchange ideas with a wide range of people, from parents and carers to teachers and governors, with a passion for the ways parents can support learning and enhance pupil outcomes

* Explore examples of good practice based on the latest research

* Find out about Dr Janet Goodall’s recently enhanced parental engagement toolkit first developed with 34 Wiltshire Schools.

The Edge is a dedicated arts, education and events space on the University of Bath campus and the Re-imagining Parental Engagement event will be held in the Ensemble Room on the second floor. There is a lift if needed for step-free access. Refreshments throughout the day will be provided.
