Event description

Description

Mama. Slow down.

Breathe in.

I see you turning circles like a whirlwind.
I see the devotion and the fear.
The thousand thoughts a minute. The overwhelmingness of it all.

Time has you in its hands.

It weighs heavy on your heart, your body and your mind.

But you are not alone.

Mama. Take a break.

Breathe out.

In the kaleidoscope of many days,

I see you loosing sight of who you are, as you selflessly give and ignore your own needs once more.

Does this resonate?

Come join us for a truly unique, day-long retreat in Dilston Physic Garden, Northumberland.

We will create a safe space to nourish all of the senses through nurturing body and mind; yoga, walking meditation, drawing and clay modelling, storytelling, wild-crafting with herbs, food and fire and plenty of time to enjoy the gardens and each other’s company.

We will generate a creative space to co-create ceremony focused on celebrating the many faces of motherhood, and the inherently diverse, fluxed and cyclical nature of the feminine.

We invite you to come to rewind, rewild, relax and play. Reflect on motherhood, self care, and what it means to loose yourself in it all, and find yourself again.

The day will be dotted with numerous activities including:

- Gentle yoga practice with pranayama to help you to reconnect with and honour your body;

- Walking meditation in the Physic Garden’s Labyrinth;

- Storytelling of earthly motherhood;

- Wild-crafted tea and incense ceremonies;

- Hospitality with hand made local, seasonal and foraged food.

£85.
Lunch, hot drinks and all materials are included in the price, booking is essential as spaces are limited. Place secured with a £25 deposit, the rest to be payed on the day.

The retreat is hosted by Katie and Sabina, who have known each other for eleven years since they were pregnant with their first-borns. They have navigated the first years of motherhood together and watched each-other be transformed by the experience.

They both often deal with stress and overwhelm in their respectful lives. They are passionate about embracing that aspect of motherhood as a process, and finding the ways to bring this healing into their lives and the lives of others.

Katie is a home-educating, off-grid living mum of 5, a doula and a passionate bringer-together of women. She believes strongly that women can find deep healing in gathering together to share experiences and reflect on feelings. She is excited to be learning more and more ways to bring plant healing and nourishment into her family life and feels that this connection to ancient plant wisdom helps her to live and mother more intuitively.

Sabina is a mum of 2, an artist, researcher, forager, and yoga teacher. In her life as in her art practice, she focuses on sustainable land practices, permaculture, re-indigenizing with local ecosystems through engagement with herbs, bee and the hive, earth based metaphysics and healing practices, and bio-mimicry of trophallaxis as cultural praxis. Currently, Sabina works towards the completion of her practice based PhD where she was looking at Aesthetics of Sustainability and visions for sustainable future.
