📏 Length: 6.6km / 4.1 miles (+/-2.5 hours)

Come join us for a morning hike at Reach The Peaks - Chatsworth Loop! Lace up your hiking boots and come with us for a lap around the beautiful areas around Chatsworth House as we head to Chatsworth Hunting Tower, Emperor Lake, Sowter Stone Waterfall and Queen Mary's Bower!

Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking for an enjoyable walk as a beginner, this event is perfect for all skill levels. Enjoy fantastic views, fresh air, and the company of fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Don't miss out on this opportunity to reach new heights and make lasting memories.

We will start from Nether End DDC Car Park at 8:45 am and head over to Chatsworth Hunting Tower before heading down to and around Emperor Laket.

From there, we head up to Sowter Stone Waterfall and up the hill to loop ariound Chatsworth House and on to Queen Mary's Bower. After that it's a nice steady walk back to the car park to finish.

The walk overall should take around 2 hours, but to factor in sightseeing, differing fitness levels, and just taking in the surroundings, we have scheduled this to take around 2.5-3 hours.

🚗 🚎 The car park is on Church Lane, Nether End, Baslow, DE45 1SR. The 218 Peakline bus service runs to the Car Park itself if you want to use public transport.

💧☀️ Please remember to bring water of some form, with us now being in the summer weather!

Frequently asked questions

Is there parking?

Yes, we are meeting from a paid car park Nether End, Baslow. Parking is arounf £6 for the full day and is payable by machine and app.

Is there public transport options?

Yes. The 218 Peakline bus from Sheffield Interchange stops at the car park.

Do I need any equipment or supplies?

We recommend decent-quality walking boots or shoes. It's also sensible to bring weather-appropriate clothing & maybe a windbreaker or raincoat in a small backpack, we do live in England after all! Lastly, a water bottle of some kind. Hydration is really important, even on shorter walks like this

Can I see the route in advance?
