About this Event
Join with LQ BID as we officially launch the start of RE[act] Festival. Local journalist Mark Simpson will direct proceedings, and we're delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Cllr Kate Nicholl, who will provide the opening address. Our keynote speaker, Carol Lemmens (Netherlands) is the leader of ARUP's global advisory service and a renowned expert on the circular economy. His insightful presentation will highlight the comprehensive changes we require to remodel our lifestyles and reshape our cities with circularity at the core. Drawing on his international experience, and in-depth thought leadership, Carol will showcase projects from around the world, but will also invite the audience to consider what is possible in Belfast.
The launch will also include what the Linen Quarter is doing to create Northern Ireland's first sustainable district, a sustainable challenge for schools, and an expert panel discussion with audience Q&A. The event will conclude with a complimentary drinks reception from 6-7pm.
