There are opportunities to gain media coverage, even when you don’t have research to push, or a report to publish.

This session will be introduced by HSS Media Relations Manager, Matt Hurst.

Matt will be joined by an editorial representative from Globelynx and a University of Liverpool academic with experience of gaining coverage by engaging with the news agenda.

Globelynx (owned by the Press Association) operate the tech in the University’s on-site Broadcast Room (https://news.liverpool.ac.uk/2018/05/11/new-broadcast-room-brings-worlds-media-to-our-campus/)

This space allows us to carry out down the line interviews with major broadcasters from across the world – directly from campus.

In this session you will learn about the items broadcasters are interested in; the process of gaining coverage through reacting to the news and some of the exciting impact it can generate.

Presenter: Matt Hurst, Media Relations Manager: A former print journalist, Matt has extensive experience of working with the media to deliver coverage across major titles and outlets worldwide.
