All levels of sewing welcome, from beginners to advance, there’s always something new to share or learn. We will have patching and darning guides, sewing equipment, scrap fabric for patching, zip kit, mending books and samples to inspire you. We also can teach you how to sew on your uniform labels.

Please bring 1-2 items of clothing or textile items that need mending for helpful suggestions from our sewing tutors. We will teach you how to mend it.

On Saturday 16 August, is the first ReActon School uniform free shop and swap in Stirling Road, Acton from 12 noon until 3 pm. The School Uniform shop is part of the School Uniform swap project to help families reduce waste and save money.

Ealing Repair Café will also be there from 12-3 pm. Our volunteers will teach you how to patch and darn your or your family's clothes. We will get you starting to mending your clothes. Our manual hand powered Singer sewing machine will be available to use on simple mends.

Also on the day at ReActon, there will be a toy and book swap for the family to take part in.

So come along and get mending, reusing and recycling.

Its not essential. Drop by anytime between 12 and 3 pm. For the toy swap bring items by 12.30 midday and the swap to begin at 1pm. More details to follow.

Ealing Repair café encourages the mending of clothes and textiles. We want to get more people valuing and wearing their clothes for longer and to move away from fast disposable fashion. We run friendly monthly gatherings around Ealing, giving suggestions and show examples of repairs done by our community. We ask for a small donation at our events to cover costs and suggest a £4 donation.
