Overview

Join Sophie Howarth and T. De Los Reyes to explore ideas around giving and receiving through poetry

Join Sophie Howarth (co-founder of The School of Life) and T. De Los Reyes (founder of Read A Little Poetry) for the first of four gatherings that explore ideas around generosity, reciprocity and community through poetry.

For 20 years, Read A Little Poetry has been a beloved companion to thousands worldwide—a living poetry archive sharing works from diverse voices. What began as one poet's commonplace book has grown into one of the most trusted and beloved poetry resources on the internet, a place visited by thousands every day to find words that can hold us steady and grow our hearts in times of uncertainty.

Read A Little Poetry has remained steadfastly ad-free and independent—sustained entirely by one woman's vision and dedication, and her belief that poems are food for the soul that should be accessible to everyone. But after two decades of generosity, the project now needs community support to continue.

If Read A Little Poetry has ever been a source of nourishment for you—if it has kept you company, introduced you to a poet you love, reminded you that you're not alone—then this is the time to show up in support.

Each Tuesday in November, Sophie Howarth and T. De Los Reyes will open a space in which we can gather to read and discuss poems together. We will bring a curated selection of poetry to each gathering, designed as an encouragement to share our gifts and resources with one another in imaginative and life-affirming ways.

Whether you read poetry regularly or rarely, you are equally welcome.

She brings an infectious passion for helping people discover the poems they need most.

T. De Los Reyes has devoted two decades to curating Read A Little Poetry from Manila, Philippines—a labour of love that has become one of the most trusted and beloved poetry resources on the internet. Her curation consistently champions voices often overlooked by traditional literary institutions, with particular devotion to poets of color, LGBTQIA+ writers, and international voices. Teachers around the world regularly incorporate her selections into their classrooms, and countless poets have expressed gratitude for how Read A Little Poetry has amplified their work and connected them with new readers. T. is also the author of And Yet Held (Bull City Press, 2024) and writes Poet's Field Notes on Substack, where she explores poetry, vulnerability, and the intersections of life and craft.
