Preaching Pastoral Care and Prophecy in a Post-Truth age!

We seem to be witnessing the rise of a ‘post-truth’ culture. Outrageous and offensive opinions ask to be taken seriously and facts are routinely disregarded if they get in the way of feelings or beliefs.
Social media confirm their prejudices and ‘expert’ opinion is rejected. This erodes the trust that underpins any healthy society and increases our sense that what we are told cannot be trusted.
Over three evenings this Summer, we shall explore this cultural shift and how we respond as preachers and pastors. The aim will be to deepen our understanding and confidence in our role as Readers. We will close with Night Prayer (Compline) at the end of each session.

Tuesday 20th June 2017

Tuesday 4th July 2017

The closing date for bookings is Monday 12th June.

The evenings are open to ministerial and lay colleagues, so please think about bringing someone along with you.

From Warrington leave the M62 Junction 7 and take the 2nd exit on to the A557.

‘Halton Stadium’ brown signs on this road for approximately 5 miles. At the fifth set of traffic lights go straight across following the stadium signs. The stadium is on the right in Lowerhouse Lane Widnes
