Westgarth English Hub is delighted to host this free, online programme led by the Open University Reading for Pleasure team across three after-school sessions (3.45–5.15pm) with related gap tasks in between.
These sessions are aimed at English leads who want to deepen their understanding of Reading for Pleasure, especially those who’ve completed TSRC or couldn’t previously take part.
Sessions will explore what it means to be a Reading Teacher and how to build a strong reading culture through social, child-centred practices. There’ll be short readings, group discussions, strategy sharing and plenty of practical, research-based ideas to encourage the development of reading communities in your school.
This session is aimed at English Leads and Senior Leads within school with the responsibility of developing a whole-school Reading for Pleasure culture.
