Reading Friends: Journaling for Wellbeing
Date and time
Location
Online event
Join Bristol Libraries for our popular journaling for wellbeing sessions.
About this event
Join Bristol Libraries for their journalling workshop with a focus on wellbeing. We'll be providing time and space and writing prompts to give you a quiet space in which to reflect. Participants need to bring pen, paper or something to write with or on. Participants will not be required to share their work unless they wish to.
Closed captioning is available for this event and we do require participants to have their video turned on throughout the session unless there are technical difficulties
What to expect
This is a Zoom meeting, of usually about 8-10 people, facilitated by 2 library staff. We will provide you with a series of 4 journaling prompts (freewrite; 2 written promts; 1 image) with about 5-10 minutes to write your response to each. Between each prompt, there will be opportunity for conversation, to talk with each other about your writing and the topic, if you would like to. The format is an interactive group, rather than a webinar, but talking is optional.
We are not mental health professionals, but we can help signpost if necessary. We aim to hold a supportive, safe and confidential space, and expect participants to share this aim. The prompts are devised by library staff to help you to reflect on and nourish your wellbeing; prompt suggestions are welcome.
