Event description

Description

Reading Hack is for 13-19 year olds who love books and reading, talking about books and reading, and promoting books and reading to others. We meet on the fourth Monday of the month, 5.00 - 6.00 pm.

We talk about books we're currently reading, make recommendations for each other, take part in activities, and plan rewarding projects. We can get book sets so that we can all read the same book to discuss. We can even talk about the books you're assigned in school, if you like. What we do is up to you -- you decide as a group. All of these interesting and fun activities can be documented and used as valuable evidence of skills on job applications, CVs and university applications. Gain skills, meet people, talk about books, and promote reading!

Some of our previous projects:

  • Hosting a Shakespeare Insult Tournament for children

  • Library displays of books we have specially selected

  • You Tube book reviews

  • Taking part in the Young Editors Scheme for Barrington Stoke Books

  • Meeting with leaders from Warwickshire County Council to discuss our ideas for libraries on International Youth Day

If you've got imagination, energy and a love of books and reading -- join in and let's see what we can create together! Find out more by attending the next Reading Hack meeting, or contact via email:
