Enjoy, Immerse, Improve…
The ability to read well underpins opportunities for great learning to take place
Nurturing a positive love of reading at an early age imparts benefits beyond those immediately obvious.
We are providing an opportunity to continue and enhance a child’s reading journey and to ensure that a child develops a life-long love of reading.
The workshops are intended to open the doors for children who are currently reluctant readers, as well as those who already love reading. Individual children will be linked with an older buddy, a child who is an accomplished reader themselves, who will work with them as a reading mentor, improving and honing their reading skills. A trained facilitator will supervise all reading activity.
Benefits to children
Children will be able to hear others read stories and non fiction, read with own school reading book, enjoy sharing and discussing books with a buddy, have an opportunity to change their library books, enjoy an activity related to their chosen book and have their school reading book updated.
What is the course?
