Three day music and arts festival at Christchurch Meadows, Caversham (under ten minutes walk from Reading station) in aid of Readipop.

About this event

From “The Sea” to Caversham, Reading, multi-million album sellers Morcheeba join hip hop legends Sugarhill Gang + Furious 5 and Mercury Music Prize winner Badly Drawn Boy to headline Readipop Festival 2022 at Christchurch Meadows on 8-10th July. Joining them to help us celebrate Readipop Festival’s 5th Birthday at our site by the Thames (10 mins walk from Reading Station) we have Romeo & Michele Stodart from The Magic Numbers, BBC 6Music championed electro-pop trio Stealing Sheep, Grammy nominated indie/dance innovators Jesus Jones, world and dance music fusionists Transglobal Underground, Nigel Clark frontman of Britpop favourites Dodgy, turntablist DJ Format, vocal house trio Sunscreem, nu-soul band Brother Zulu, reggae collective The Drop, live hip hop from OSP & K.Kayne, singer songwriters Hatty Taylor & Amya-Ray plus many more across three days.

Also, on Saturday 9th July from 2-3.30pm, we are hosting an “In Conversation” session with artists including Stephen Morris (New Order/Joy Division), Richard Jobson (The Skids) and Stealing Sheep discussing Music Changing Lives.

In addition to the music, attendees can enjoy local real ales and craft beer served by Purple Turtle bars, delicious street food, a record store and Reading’s Indie Market stalls full of festival-friendly arts, crafts and clothes stalls. Kids are also welcomed with free tickets for under 14s (when accompanied by adults) and a family area which includes arts & crafts and music workshops.

Third release weekend tickets are priced just £52 each (plus booking fee) alongside second release day tickets from £19 until midnight on 29th June from http://readipop.co.uk/festival. All money raised by Readipop Festival helps support Readipop’s charity work providing access to music for vulnerable young people and other underrepresented communities locally. Read more about this and how you can help us at http://readipop.co.uk

Finally, we want to say a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone who held onto their Readipop Festival tickets or became a Readipop Friend over the last two years. Your incredible ongoing support has been essential in getting us to this point and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all in style this July!
